Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s tourism revenues jumped by 83.3% year-on-year to $2.2 billion in the first quarter of 2108.
Tourist arrivals surged by 37.1% to reach 2.383 million visitors in the three first month of this year, an unnamed official told Reuters.
Tourist nights amounted to 23.8 million in Q1-18, he added.
Hotel occupancy rate in the main Egyptian tourism destinations rose in the three-month period ended last March, according to Colliers International.
Colliers International had previously forecast that hotel occupancy rate in Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada will rise by 46% and 45%, respectively, in Q2-18.
